Our commitment to the community

Don Som Project aims to improve various conditions through solidarity between people in Laos itself and people in other countries. It wants to work together with people to improve and develop skills that permanently enable them to improve their living conditions themselves. Don Som Project also consider it important that attention is paid to people, animals, the environment, and the surroundings. We will try to develop, highlight, and support this in various ways. Supporting a community that lives in good harmony with each other and the living environment, and works together to improve living conditions, is important to us. Actively involving people in solidarity projects between Laos and other countries can open up a world for both sides. Cooperation can be an enrichment for people in Laos and the rest of the world. We do not want to leave people dependent on support, nor do we want to be a ‘classic’ aid organization that ‘comes to help poor people from countries with great wealth’ and exhibits corresponding behavior. People are not equal (after all, we are all different), but equality between people must be the starting point. We view constructive criticism as an enrichment, not a threat. Some things will fail, but if we learn from it, that is positive.
